COURSE TITLE:
Level 1 Food & Nutrition
WHAT WILL I LEARN?Students will develop knowledge and understanding of nutrients and nutritional needs of individuals and how to adopt this in everyday life. A major focus will be developing an awareness of the concept of Well-being and to acknowledge responsibility for their own health and well-being. Students participate in a wide variety of practical food-related activities which are planned to develop and support knowledge of teenage nutrition, cultural eating patterns, designing family meals.
WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE ALREADY?
There are no set pre-requisites for this course, however, Year 10 Food & Nutrition would be an advantage.

WHERE DOES THIS COURSE LEAD?
Level 2 Food & Nutrition. This course gives the basic nutrition and understanding that are further developed in senior food classes and lead on to health/food related career pathways.
