COURSE TITLE:Year 9 Physical Education and Health COURSE DESCRIPTION:Physical Education and Health is compulsory for all year 9 students and is taken for four periods a week (three periods of Physical Education, one period of Health). The focus is on the well being of the students themselves through learning in health-related and movement contexts. There are four strands of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum that underpin the learning in this subject area:
WHAT WILL I LEARN?The key values of; Safety management, Being actively involved, Movement and Motor skills, Relationships and Teamwork, Developing a positive attitude and Interpersonal skills use are delivered through the practical element. Student/teacher negotiation plays a vital role in the selection of practical activities covered throughout the year.

However, topics are generally considered from the following; Volleyball, Turbo Touch, Badminton, Tchoukball, Lacrosse, Gymnastics, Biophysical Fitness, Ki-o-Rahi and Games around the world.
