COURSE DESCRIPTION:
You will follow the process of designing and making to enable you to make a product. You will use a combination of machinery and hand tools to help you develop your practical skills and techniques.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
- about wood as a material
- to design a product to meet your own brief. (In the past these have included cell phone holders, jewelry boxes and tools)
- investigate wood joints
WHERE DOES THIS COURSE LEAD?
This course leads on to Material Technology in Year 10 and then Levels 1 and 2 Woodwork and also Levels 1 and 2 Mechanical Engineering. INDICATIVE COSTS:Materials cost $20
